Radical and Skeptical

I know I haven’t posted in a while, and as long as I have work and school it’s probably going to stay that way, but I just felt like logging on real quick to say:

Gender is made up bullshit concocted by the horrible “cis” people you supposedly hate so much, and all you trans idiots took the bait hook, line and sinker.

Good job.

Sincerely,

A person who is neither trans nor cis

I realize we have the best name and everything but if you call yourself a radical feminist/radfem and you are defensive of

gender

porn/prostitution

inclusion/prioritizing of men in feminism

individualism

and you’re a lesbophobe, you need to find some other label to steal

Social Justice Problems
on tumblr: guys we need to have a serious discussion about the erasure of nonbinary trans* people
in real life: ok, I guess I have to explain to my entire class how "feminist" is not an insult
I have a question for radical feminists.

I’m a trans* man. Would this mean I:

  1. have betrayed your gender?
  2. am a giant faker because trans* peeps don’t exist?
  3. now have male privilege?

If you picked 3 and discriminate against trans* women, then please kindly go and fuck yourself tuck your shirt in.

1. Betrayed? No. Fuck gender. You have some internalized misogyny though.

2. Who said trans people don’t exist? You aren’t male though. If you’re a trans man that means you’re female.

3. You have male privilege if you pass as a man and people view you as a man. But if you’re female, you have female socialization, even if you feel like you’re really a man on the inside.

Hi, I'm really interested in how you recovered from being trans. Would it be okay for you to share your story? Sorry if you already have...I just found your blog. Thanks! =)

That’s a good idea. Unfortunately, I’ll need some time to gather my bearings on this one.

Also, feel free to look through all of my posts, reblogs and posts that I’ve liked. :)

Buck Angel is a transmisogynistic asshole.

Seriously white CAFAB people take up so much of the trans* praise and spotlight while dealing with very few of the repercussions for being trans*.
If we are going to have the bulk of this “community’s” attention and support (and we do), we need to give the stage away. And when our cis friends are clamouring to be good allies, don’t let them ignore CAMAB trans* people.

I don’t want to hear “but we all have our own issues to deal with” because transmisogyny IS your problem.

I used to help run a trans support community. The idea that FTMs dominate spaces and discourse is completely absurd. It’s simply not true. In fact, the perception that FTMs take up more space than MTFs is little more a wholesale recreation of the myth that women talk more than men.

Just this time, add ~gendah identitay~ to the mix.

I have a question.

Everyone quick to accept that ‘trans-racial’ and ‘trans-abled’ people are scum and that they are appropriate identities and cultures that they should have no part of. Why is the same not true for transsexualism?

I realize I may have been a little harsh when my blog first started, but this is something that I actually wondered while I was transitioning. They are essentially the same thing. A person from a privileged group attempting to join an underprivileged group and then (in the case of transgender individuals) claiming that their stories are the most important.

Would a trans-abled person (aka abled) who claimed their disability was worse since no one treated them as disabled, make any sense at all??? No. Would a trans-racial person who said the impact of racism on their lives was worse since no one could see they were whatever they were claiming to be, would that make sense??? No. I do acknowledge the fact that since transgender people can be visible transgender they do experience discrimination because of their deviation from the ‘norm.’

Why is it that you will listen when a POC says an act is cultural appropriation???? (I am not questioning the act of you listening, people need to pay more attention to the stories of POC and what they are saying) Why is it that you will listen to disabled people when they cry out that trans-ablism is bullshit???? (again not questioning the act of listening to them) BUT you won’t listen when a woman, A FEMALE BORN WOMAN, A WOMAN RAISED AS A WOMAN, says that she is uncomfortable with the idea of someone BORN MALE, RAISED AS A MAN coming into her safe space? Why are you not listening when she says ‘I am uncomfortable with your appropriation of my identity, of my body, of my struggles, of my sexuality, of my life?’

I also realize that there are women of color who are disabled. Why would you listen to her, then, when she speaks about her experiences as a person of color or as someone with a disability; but not when she speaks about her experiences as a woman.

If any REASONABLE people have found issue with what I have said here please feel free to send me an ask and tell me what I need to change in this question. I will not accept complaints of ‘transphobia’, ‘trans-misogyny’, or ‘cis-sexism.’ I will also not accept complaints on the behalf of trans-racialism and trans-ablism (I don’t even know what the words would be for that……)

I generally dislike comparing oppressions but I agree with everything here. The cognitive dissonance tumblr has on the issue of trans and appropriation has been brought up by radfems before, but I have yet to see a legitimate argument for why a man claiming to be a woman must be accepted without question by real women, while everyone can recognize how revolting it would be for a “trans abled” person to impose themselves on people with disabilities.

Female oppression just isn’t taken seriously on this site. And individual people who do (radical feminists basically) are painted as white supremacists, race traitors, whatever bullshit. As if only white/white identified women recognize the perils that come with having a vagina. This site is populated by idiots.

Walking around an adult toy store, where male masturbators are labeled with sexy women and clit stimulators are labeled with sexy women, I get the eerie feeling that I’m not supposed to exist. My body is, but me, the part that would rather look at men or butch women? Pfft. Men desire, women are desired, and looking at an idealized version of yourself through male eyes is the sexiest thing a woman can hope for.

The Pervocracy: The male gaze. (via sexisnottheenemy)

It’s also one of the more sexist things a woman can hope for.

In mainstream media in general, how women are presented nearly always adheres to the straight, male gaze. Which gives most non-oblivious people a pretty good idea of whose producing most forms of widely accessible media expression to begin with.

Gender is a social construct.

pragmatichominid:

It doesn’t actually exist.

We create it through social interactions.

Every society has a different conception of what gender is, of what maleness and femaleness and everything and anything that falls between and outside of those bounds is.

Gender has no biological basis.

Womeness is not the exclusive property of individuals born with vaginae.

Sorry about your bullshit, radscum.

You’re conflating sex and gender, genius.

oh up until halfway through I thought this post was made by a radical feminist ha. because you know, we say the exact same things as what you just said- we just realize that you know sex is not the same as gender. sex is a biological trait, gender is a social construct. a woman is an adult human female. ha.

I’ll fix the original post.

It doesn’t actually exist.

We created it through eons of social interactions and patriarchal oppression.

Every society has a different conception of what gender is, of what masculinity (artificial maleness) and femininity (artificial femaleness) and everything and anything that falls between and outside of those bounds is.

Gender has no biological basis.

The lesser gender role in most societies is forced upon individuals born with vaginae and sometimes appropriated by people with penises, despite the fact that we should be abolishing the role altogether.

Sorry about your bullshit, transwhacktivists.
